Kyocera Battery Recall

Kyocera, a leading manufacturer of CDMA phones, has announced a
voluntary and precautionary recall of the batteries found in their
KE/KX 400 Series, 3200 Series, and Slider Series phones.

During quality control, Kyocera discovered that a battery supplier, who
they have terminated all relationships with, intentionally provided
Kyocera with batteries containing unapproved battery cells. Since the
discovery of the defective batteries, Kyocera has changed its battery
supply chain and hired a world renowned leader for its battery
engineering team. It has also doubled its internal testing program and
put together a third party testing program.

The recall only affects the batteries from this particular supplier and
the particular phones mentioned. Kyocera has put into motion a plan
with its carriers to contact customers with these phones directly and
let them know of the recall.
