Flat-screen TV emits international distress signal

In the US, an Oregon man discovered that hit Toshiba flat screen tv was
emmiting a distress signal causing rescue forces to search the person
in distress.
The signal from the television unit was picked up by a satellite and
directed to a near by air force base.
The international distress frequency is 121.5 MHz.
The person said Toshiba offered to replace his unit at no extra charge.
